An Ode to Aleppo
Syria's war drags on to it's sixth year, As civilians are gripped in paralyzing fear. Their pitiful cries etched on the gravestone of death. As innocent lives get snuffed out in a breath. Hopelessly besieged by a merciless infantry, With soldiers falling prey to chronic bigotry. Plundered and pillaged by a loathsome regime. The world pays no heed to Aleppo's scream. Bloodied, writhing bodies are exhumed from rubble. As people watch their metropolis crumble.
